Wall-Mounted Fan Cleaning

Wall-mounted fan cleaning removes dust and grease from the guards, blades and housings of wall and bracket-mounted fans in kitchens, gyms, warehouses and back-of-house areas. AELC providers clean fans unplugged or locked out, opening guards only where the design allows.

What's included

  • Front and rear guards
  • Blades and hub when guards can be opened safely
  • Motor housing and bracket

Not included

  • Motor or wiring repair

Why it matters

Kitchen and gym fans collect grease and lint that blow back into food prep and workout areas.

These fans are mounted high and rarely cleaned.

How AELC providers clean wall-mounted fans

Every AELC Network Provider follows the AELC Source-Control Method: do not move the contamination; capture it or contain it. For wall-mounted fans, that means:

  1. Identify. Confirm the fan is unplugged or locked out.
  2. Capture. Vacuum guards with a HEPA vacuum and brush.
  3. Clean. Open guards where designed to, degrease blades and guards, and reassemble.
  4. Verify. Restore power and test.

Typical reach class: Standard Reach. About AELC reach classes.

How often should wall-mounted fans be cleaned?

SettingRecommended frequency
KitchensEvery 1 to 3 months
Gyms and warehousesEvery 3 to 6 months

Grease, lint, humidity and how visible the area is can shorten these intervals. See how often high dusting should be done.

How much does wall-mounted fan cleaning cost?

Typical range: $15–$40 per fan (per fan). Heavily greased kitchen fans take longer.

Prices are set by each independent provider. Ranges reflect published market data and AELC time standards. See the full above-eye-level cleaning cost guide.

DIY vs. hiring a pro

  • Unplug before touching the guard.

Safety and when to stop

  • Never clean a running fan.
